Payment desk

We settle the hold. We do not settle the smile.

RatedDocs verifies the dentist and facilitates booking and payment. A dispute here is only about where the held money goes. Clinical outcome is the dentist’s warranty — not this desk.

The 10% — twice, never together

Clarify the forfeit

There are two 10% events. Same rate. A booking hits one of them, never both. Open a row.

  • The 10% cancel forfeit and the 10% release fee are the same rate. A booking pays one of them, never both.
  • Forfeit applies only when the patient cancels inside 48 hours of the travel date on the booking.
  • RatedDocs keeps the 10% forfeit. The dentist gets $0 on a late cancel.
  • If the dentist cancels, no-shows, or the final quote blows the 15% cap, the patient gets 100% back.
  • Nothing is taken until money is actually in the hold (after the patient agrees to the written quote).

Clock is 48 hours before the travel date on the booking — not before the video consultation.

Patient cancels within 48 hours of travel

This is a cancel forfeit, not a treatment fee. The dentist is not paid for a chair they did not use.

What this desk will and will not decide

Payment file

Opened by Patient

Was the cancel inside 48 hours?

The claim
“I cancelled 50 hours out.” The booking file shows 42 hours before travel.
What we decide
The clock is the travel date on the booking, in that timezone. Inside 48 hours → 10% forfeit. Outside → full refund.
Money
Payment desk only. No clinical call.
Still not true
This is not a vote, a review score, or a treatment grade.
Evidence we look at
Travel date on the booking · Cancel timestamp · Timezone on the file
  1. 01

    Open a payment file

Patient or dentist. Only while money is held, or within 7 days of a cancel decision.

  2. 02

    The hold stays frozen

If funds are still held, nobody is paid until the payment rule is applied.

  3. 03

    Each side adds timestamps

Travel date, cancel time, arrival, exam-finished, quotes. Not opinions about the smile.

  4. 04

    RatedDocs applies the table

48-hour clock, 15% cap, who cancelled, did the exam finish. That is the whole desk.

  5. 05

    Money moves once

Refund, forfeit, or release. Clinical complaints go to the dentist’s warranty, not back here.

Verification is a different file

Six pillars. All pass, or the dentist is not Verified. That work happens before a patient ever books a video consultation. A payment dispute does not reopen licence, sterilization, or warranty checks — and verification does not decide a hold.

Dentist verification details

If something fails after you go home

That is the written warranty on the dentist’s profile — duration, what is covered, who pays. RatedDocs required that file to mark them Verified. We still do not treat you, and we do not unwind a released payment because the outcome disappointed.
